The Blue Earth County Citizens Academy is a free, seven-week program designed to give citizens a unique "behind-the-scenes" look at government. The program offers participants insights into how Blue Earth County employees perform their jobs and how each department serves the community.
Classes are taught by county leaders and will cover a variety of topics for participants to learn about, including the sheriff's office, public works, human services, criminal justice system, and environmental services. They will also feature tours of many county buildings, including the:
Classes are held Tuesday evenings from 6-9pm from March 20 - May 1. Class size is limited to 20 participants.Online applications are now being accepted for the 2018 program.
