The Blue Earth County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility, located at 651 Summit Avenue in Mankato, is taking winter appointments for Blue Earth County residents only. Appointments will be available beginning on Tuesday, January 8 for county residents to drop off their household hazardous wastes.
Although the facility is currently closed for the season for general collection, drop-off appointments will give Blue Earth County residents an opportunity to properly dispose of waste without having to store items until April when the facility reopens for its regular business hours.
Appointments will be available for Blue Earth County residents Tuesday afternoons from noon to 4:00 p.m. from January 8 to February 26. Residents with appointments can enter through the east gate and drive to the back of the facility. Proof of county residency will be required upon arrival with a license, utility bill, tax document, or any other form of residency identification. Please note that the Product Reuse area of the facility will not be available during winter appointments.
To make an appointment, Blue Earth County residents may contact Blue Earth County Environmental Services at (507) 304-4381.
The HHW Facility accepts household wastes free of charge from Blue Earth County residents. Paints, household cleaners, yard/gardening products, certain automotive products, caulking material, fluorescent bulbs, and aerosols are just some examples of the products accepted.
